From 1 November 2025, Support at Home begins replacing Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) to make getting help at home simpler and more flexible.
Support at Home brings existing programs together so it's easier to understand and use.
Instead of four HCP levels, Support at Home uses more levels of ongoing support plus short-term options (like restorative support or end-of-life care) so funding can better match your needs.
Funding is set per quarter. A small portion of unspent funds can roll over, giving you more control and predictability.
Services are grouped (e.g., clinical care, independence support, everyday living). Some are fully funded; others may have co-contributions based on your circumstances.
Dedicated support for things like rails, ramps, and mobility aids to help you stay safe and independent at home.
Government price caps and clearer fees are being introduced so you can compare options and avoid surprises.
Good to know: The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) will move into Support at Home later (not before 1 July 2027). If you're on CHSP now, nothing changes immediately.
You'll still start with My Aged Care to check eligibility and arrange an assessment.
If you already receive support, you won't be cut off. There will be transition arrangements to keep your services going while you move across.
We manage the switch from HCP/STRC to Support at Home and handle the admin so you keep getting services without gaps.
We help plan your quarterly budget, explain what can roll over, and align services to your goals.
We compare providers, check inclusions/exclusions, and make sure fees and caps are clear and fair.
Clinical care, independence support, everyday living: we help you map out the best combination for your situation.
We organise restorative or end-of-life supports if your needs change suddenly.
If delays or issues pop up, we chase them up and keep things moving.
Understand your goals, routines, and preferences.
Translate needs into a clear, quarterly budget and service mix.
Arrange services, equipment, and home modifications.
Check what's working, adjust supports, and keep you up-to-date on any rule changes.
If you're on HCP/STRC, your services continue. We'll guide you through any steps for the transition.
Some services will remain fully funded; others may include co-contributions. We'll explain your options and keep costs transparent.
Short-term pathways (like restorative care) are designed to respond quickly. We'll help activate them when needed.
CHSP moves later (not before 1 July 2027). We'll keep you updated and plan ahead so the change is smooth.
